The band that hears you.

Play one note and a band arrives. Jam It Bro listens to what you actually play — your chords, your key, your timing — and puts musicians around you in real time. It is not a backing track. It is a band that is listening to you.

No spam. One note when the beta opens.

Everyone else hands you a backing track.
Jam It Bro listens and plays along.

A loop cannot tell that you slowed down, changed the chord, or left a bar of space. A band can. That single difference is the whole product.

Why we built it

Nobody should learn alone.

Music used to be learned in a garage. Four kids, one amp, and whoever turned up on Saturday. You learned to play by playing with people — badly at first, then less badly, then together.

That happens far less now. People learn on their own, in headphones, in a bedroom, next to a metronome that has never once listened back. You can practise for a year and still have never played with anyone.

A metronome does not wait for you. A backing track does not notice you struggled with that change. Neither of them is a bandmate.

So we give you the band first. Musicians who wait for your count, follow your chord, hold the groove when you rush, and leave space when you leave space. You get to practise the thing you actually wanted to learn — how to play with other people — from your very first session.

It is not about replacing musicians. It is about making sure that nobody gives up in the months before they find any.

Where this is going

The chairs are not meant to stay ours. Every seat the band holds is a seat a real person can take — your teacher, your friend, your first group. We are building toward the session where you hand a chair to someone real, and toward the stage after it. That is the whole point: to get you comfortable playing with people, and then out there with them.

The cast

Five musicians. One empty chair.

This is not a guitar tool. Sit down as the drummer, the bassist, the pianist, the guitarist or the synth player — whichever chair you take is left empty, and the rest of the band fills in around you.

Under the hood

What makes it a band

Four things have to be true before a machine can hold a chair in your band. All four are working today.

👂

It hears harmony, not just pitch

Major, minor, power, dominant 7, major 7, minor 7, sus2, sus4, diminished and augmented are recognised and carried all the way through to the notes the band plays back.

🔒

It runs on your machine

Listening happens on your computer. A local AI model does the hard part on-device, on a low-priority thread so it never steals time from your playing. Nothing you play is uploaded anywhere.

🎚️

Controls that change the playing

Power, Busyness, Surprise and Human Feel are not decoration. They change which notes the musicians choose and where they place them.

🎭

Five styles, real vocabulary

Cinematic, Neon Pulse, Indie Drive, Heavy and Minimal each carry their own note and rhythm vocabulary. Changing style changes the playing, not just the tone.

✋

Direct them mid-song

Solo a musician, mute them, or call a fill of one to four bars while the song keeps running. You are the bandleader, not the audience.

🔌

App and plug-ins

Use the standalone app, or drop the plug-ins straight into your DAW: one Listener, and a Player per chair writing MIDI into your own instruments.

How it works

Plug in. Play. The room fills up.

1

Pick your chair

Tell it which instrument you are playing. That seat stays empty, and the band is built around it.

2

Play something

Guitar, keys, bass or voice, through audio or MIDI. It works out the chord, the key and where the beat is sitting.

3

The band comes in

They arrive on your count, follow your changes, and leave space when you leave space. Solo, mute or call a fill as you go.

The Jam It Bro app: the stage with the band, per-seat solo, fill and mute controls, and the listening panel showing the detected chord.

The app, running. The guitar chair is empty because the player took it.

A note from the founder

Nobody quits because they stopped loving it.

Ask anyone who put the guitar back in the cupboard and they will not tell you the chords were too hard. They will tell you they were on their own. No bandmate. No one waiting on a Tuesday night. No fuel left to carry it alone.

That is the part I wanted to fix. Not the teaching, there is plenty of teaching. The company.

Jam It Bro gives you the bandmate first, so you have a reason to pick it up tomorrow.

Your favourite drummer, your bass player, the keys player who actually listens to you. They follow what you play, not the other way round. You are never practising. You are always playing with someone.

And then the real point. When your confidence is there, you swap them out. One seat at a time, for real people, in online sessions. Humans just like you, on the other side of the world, who also stopped for a while and also came back. The AI band is the bridge, not the destination.

We musicians are a bleeding heart community. We always were. Love to all of you, my brothers and sisters everywhere, with my deepest feelings, through my music and through my software.

Cheers, bro.

Building the band that listens.

If you invest in music technology, creator tools or the learning market, there is a short brief covering what is working today, what is still being built, and where this goes next. Written plainly, gaps included.
